Welcome to the Baltimore Metro Section

President’s Message

 

The AACE Baltimore Metro Section had a great year in 2011, holding eleven monthly meetings.  Our section was awarded “Excellent Section Award” at the Annual General Meeting.  Our year-end party was refreshing as we toured the Seven Seas Brewery.  We also started several partnerships with other professional associations, like CMAA and ASPE, and hope to continue to foster mutually beneficial relationships.

 

As we enter 2012, one of my goals is to award different scholarships to deserving students through the application process.  The on-line application is available now at www.aacei-org/awards/scholarships.  The deadline is February 15th for receipt of completed application.

 

Student participation and outreach is one area our section must improve.  In order to achieve this, we need more member participation to get involved with the local universities and colleges.

 

We continue to build a great organization with tremendous help from the tireless work of dedicated members directing meeting and administration efforts.  There are many great people out there who can volunteer their time and expertise to make the successes we have seen this past year become a reality in the new one.

To those that are thinking of becoming more involved  -  Welcome!

 

The member pool continues to grow, with some fantastic new additions to our already impressive roster of leaders.  As is one of the fundamental purposes of the Association, this is our way of giving back to help the next generation to successfully pick up where we left off without having to make some of the mistakes and speed bumps we may have encountered during our careers.

 

I would like to remind members that Elections for the Board of Directors are around the corner, so please vote for your candidate of choice.  Finally, be reminded to pay your membership, and start planning to attend the 2012 Annual Meeting from July 8-12 in San Antonio, Texas.
